Hold it right there!

Like I mentioned in my previous blogpost, right before I had surgery on my wrist, I got the chance to test a pattern.
Again one for a bag, what else? ;-)

This time it was from a, to me, unknown designer, Suzanna of Hold It Right There.
The Corcoran Cross Body Bag is the kind of bag I prefer to use.
The fact that it has so much pockets, is the reason I decided to sign up for the test.

I like to have lots of pockets so everything got it's place and I don't spend half an hour looking for my keys or lipbalm or anything.

(of toch bijna).

Deciding on the fabrics was not too difficult. The zippers, that was a bit harder.
At first, I decided to go with regular, plain black zippers.
But, over the weekend, I decided I wanted colored zippers, like the color in the fabric.
I searched a lot of webshops, with no succes. I only found the right color zipper in 1 shop, but it was too short.
On Monday (the bag had to be finished by Wednesday) I went to the local store, but they didn't have the right color.
I mailed to the other local store, but no succes there either.
So on Tuesday, I went to another store, and scored some zippers in the right colors, yay!

Now, what do you think? Don't these colored zippers make it 'pop'?
Black would have been boring, right?

The back of the bag with a zippered pocket and a slippocket

On the front, under the flap, there's also a slippocket

De tas sluit met een rits...
The bag closes with a zipper...

On the inside, there are pockets for pens, cellphone,...

There's a padded pocket for your ereader, altought the pocket is a bit big for mine.
But, because of the pocket being a bit too big, it can be used to carry your tablet in it too.
There's another little slippocket on top of the padded pocket. It fits my phone, but you could probably put some other stuff in there too ;-) Like I said, lots and lots of pockets :-)

I really like LOVE the way the bag turned out an I started using it right away.
I took it with me to hospital, because I had my ereader with me, so I could read a bit while waiting.

If I make another one, I might make the flap a bit wider (the same width as the bag), because I think I would like the look of it better. Not that I don't like the way this bag turned out, but it's just personal preference.

One thing I have to say, lots of pockets means a lot of pattern pieces ;-)
But Suzanna made diagrams so you know exatctly which pieces to cut out of which fabrics.
She also added little labels you can cut out and pin to your pieces of fabric, so you can keep your pieces organised.

A lot of pictures and diagrams help you with putting the bag together.
There is also a cutting chart if you prefer to cut out the piece with a
Rotary cutter.

And now, off you go to Etsy to get your copy af the pattern and sew a fabulous bag :-)
